Cute, funny, and a lot spicier than I expected, with great banter between the leads. A few ridiculous moments kept it at 3 stars for me.

Recipe for One Very Steamy Vacation:
Mix brother's best friend, enemies-to-lovers banter, a Bora Bora vacation, and back-and-forth POV. Add 5 peppers of spice and a few eye-roll moments to taste. Serves: a cute, funny, steamy rom-com.

I picked this one up as a blind date with a book, so I had no idea what I was getting into. It turned out to be a lot spicier than I expected, and it drew me in anyway.

The Setup

Maggie Mitchell runs her own event-planning business, and she's finally taking a vacation in Bora Bora. Then her brother's best friend, Brody McFadden, shows up. He's also her sworn enemy, thanks to years of tension that started at her brother's wedding.

What I Liked

This book was cute, and it was funny. The best part was the banter between Maggie and Brody. Their back-and-forth kept things fun, and I liked the chemistry between them.

I also liked the back-and-forth POV. Getting both of their sides made the story work for me.

What Held It Back

Some of their antics were a little ridiculous, and I caught myself rolling my eyes a few times, even while I was enjoying their banter. That's what kept this one at 3 stars for me.

Know Going In: The Spice

For me, this one is 5 peppers. Even before things heat up, the flirty, suggestive tone shows up early, so if you're expecting a sweet, closed-door rom-com, know that going in.

Who Should Read It

Read this if you're in a romantic mood, love banter between the leads, enjoy dual POV, and want a rom-com that turns up the heat. It's a good fit if you don't mind a few over-the-top moments along the way.

Final Verdict

Overall, Bridesmaid for Hire was a cute, funny read with great banter and a lot more spice than I expected. Some ridiculous moments held it back for me, but if you love bickering leads and don't mind the heat, it's worth a try.

Would I read Meghan Quinn again? Yes! I'd pick up book 2, Bridesmaid Undercover. It looks like it brings back some of the same characters but has new leads.
