Welcome to The Well Read Society. The Well Read Society ("WRS," "we," "us," or "our") is a brand operated by Kate Danielle. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of wellreadsociety.com, including its articles, reading-mood pages, book recommendations, interactive tools, email content, downloads, products, and other features or services that link to these Terms (collectively, the "Site").

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who May Use the Site You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Site only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.

2. Informational and Entertainment Purposes The content on the Site is provided for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes. Book lists, reading-mood categories, reviews, ratings, recommendations, prompts, quizzes, and other content reflect personal opinions, editorial judgment, reader reception, or information available at the time of publication. We do not guarantee that every recommendation will suit your tastes, that book information will remain current, or that a title will be available from a particular retailer, library, or service. You are responsible for deciding whether a book, product, or service is appropriate for you. Content warnings, age classifications, heat or spice descriptions, genre labels, and similar information are subjective and may not identify every potentially sensitive element. Please consult the publisher, retailer, librarian, or other appropriate source if you need additional information before selecting a book.

3. TBR Matchmaker and Interactive Tools The TBR Matchmaker and any other quizzes, generators, prompts, or interactive tools are provided for fun and inspiration. Results are generated to help you choose from books on your to-be-read list, whether you already own them, borrow them, or decide to purchase them. Tool results are suggestions only. We do not guarantee that a result will be accurate, suitable, available, or enjoyable. Interactive tools may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time.

4. Affiliate Links and Advertising Some links on the Site are affiliate links. This means we may earn a commission if you click a link and make a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not guarantee a positive review or recommendation. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Prices, availability, product descriptions, retailer policies, and promotions are controlled by the applicable third party and may change without notice. Any purchase you make through a third-party link is a transaction between you and that third party. We are not responsible for third-party products, fulfillment, billing, returns, customer service, or policies. Where required, sponsored content, gifted products, and other material relationships will be disclosed near the relevant content.

5. Email Communications If you subscribe to The Well Read Society or request a free resource, you may receive the requested content and occasional bookish emails, updates, recommendations, or promotional messages. The Well Read Society is a brand operated by Kate Danielle, so messages may be sent from an address using the katedanielle.com domain, including hello@wellreadsociety.com. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email. Transactional or access-related messages may still be sent when necessary to deliver something you requested or purchased.

6. Purchases, Digital Products, and Promotions If the Site offers paid products, downloads, memberships, workshops, or other services, additional terms displayed at checkout or on the relevant sales page may apply. By completing a purchase, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment and contact information. Prices and availability may change without notice. We may correct pricing or product-description errors and may cancel or refund an order affected by an error, suspected fraud, or unauthorized activity. Unless a product page says otherwise, digital products are licensed for your personal, noncommercial use only. Because digital products can be accessed or downloaded immediately, refund eligibility may be limited as described in the refund policy shown at checkout or on the relevant product page. Nothing in these Terms limits any nonwaivable consumer rights you may have under applicable law. Promotions, giveaways, challenges, or contests may have separate rules. If separate rules conflict with these Terms, the separate rules control for that promotion.

Intellectual Property The Site and its original content—including text, branding, logos, graphics, illustrations, designs, downloads, templates, prompts, tools, page layouts, photographs, and other materials—are owned by or licensed to The Well Read Society or Kate Danielle and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may access the Site and print or download materials expressly offered for personal use. You may not, without prior written permission:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, or commercially exploit Site content;

  • share, resell, or redistribute paid or subscriber-only downloads;

  • remove copyright, trademark, watermark, credit, or proprietary notices;

  • use Site content to create competing products, databases, collections, or services;

  • scrape, harvest, systematically download, or use automated means to extract Site content; or

  • represent Site content as your own.

Book covers, publisher materials, retailer content, product names, and third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on the Site does not imply sponsorship or endorsement unless expressly stated.

8. Acceptable Use You agree not to:

  • use the Site for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes;

  • interfere with the Site's security, availability, operation, or connected systems;

  • introduce viruses, malicious code, or other harmful technology;

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, tool, database, or restricted area;

  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;

  • submit content that is infringing, defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, or otherwise unlawful; or

  • use the Site in a way that violates another person's rights.

We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or when necessary to protect the Site, its users, or others.

9. Comments and User Submissions If the Site allows comments, reviews, messages, photos, or other submissions, you retain ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, promote, and improve the Site and related services. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right. We may moderate, edit, decline, or remove submissions, but we are not obligated to monitor everything users submit. Do not submit confidential or highly sensitive information through comments, public forms, or other public-facing features.

10. Third-Party Sites and Services The Site may link to retailers, publishers, libraries, social platforms, email providers, embedded forms, apps, and other third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, products, or practices of third-party services. A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse every statement, product, or practice of the linked service.

Disclaimer of Warranties To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and all content, tools, products, and services made available through it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components, or that any content or result will be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for your needs. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Well Read Society, Kate Danielle, and their owners, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities; or losses arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, reliance on Site content, third-party links, or unauthorized access to your information. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid directly to us for the product or service giving rise to the claim during the six months before the event giving rise to liability or (b) US $100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

13. Indemnification To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Well Read Society, Kate Danielle, and their owners, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your unlawful use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, your submissions, or your violation of another person's rights.

14. Copyright Concerns If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, please email hello@wellreadsociety.com with:

  • identification of the copyrighted work;

  • identification and location of the allegedly infringing material;

  • your contact information;

  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and

  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We may request additional information before acting on a notice.

15. Changes to the Site or These Terms We may update, suspend, remove, or change any part of the Site at any time. We may also revise these Terms. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after revised Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, stop using the Site.

16. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not required by applicable law to be heard elsewhere will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cherokee County, Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally.

17. Severability and Waiver If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision or any other right.

18. Entire Agreement These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific product, service, promotion, or purchase, form the entire agreement between you and us concerning your use of the Site.
